Finding Folders and Categories
Above the folders and categories, you'll find a search icon. This icon allows you to filter all existing folders and categories.
Select the search icon to open the search bar.
While you're typing, the navigation will immediately filter your results, displaying only the relevant folders and categories, including all subfolders. This makes it easier for you to select the relevant folder.
Using Filters
The filters can be used in two ways: you can either perform a simple search using the search bar or run a more specific search with the filter button.
To use the search bar, simply enter your search term. To clear the search, select the small "X" next to the search bar.
To use the filter, select the Filter button. A dropdown will appear, showing all available filters. From there, you can directly select a search key, scroll through the list, or search for a specific key.
The following types of search are available:
1. Text Search
Searching for a text value opens a simple text field where you can enter your input. As you type, the results are filtered in real time to show only relevant matches. You can also search for multiple values. The separator may vary depending on the channel, but the default separator is a comma. You can see your default separator by hovering over the information icon.
2. Date Search
Searching for a date opens a date picker. You can search for a single date (before, after, or on that date) or select a date range to filter between two dates.
3. Value List Search
Searching for a list of values opens a value picker, allowing you to select one or more specific values.
After performing your search, the search terms will appear as filters above the assets. You can refine your search further by selecting values and operators for each search term and changing it. Each type of search offers different operators based on the data type.
Bookmarking Filters
You can save filters for later use. To do so, select the Save button, assign a name to the filter, and it will appear as a small icon below the filter button. You can then select it at any time to apply the saved filter.
Share Filters
Each filter is also displayed in the browser-URL. If you want to share a filter, simply copy the URL and send it using your preferred tool.
For example, a URL filtering for compliant assets might look like this:
https://channel.demoup-cliplister.com/channel/categoryType=feed?filters=%5B%7B%22filterId%22%3A%22compliance_status%22%2C%22type%22%3A%22multiselect%22%2C%22value%22%3A%5B%22compliant%22%5D%2C%22operator%22%3A%22EQUAL%22%7D%5D
Troubleshooting Search Issues
- Missing Filters: Contact your Brand Channel Administrator if expected filters are unavailable.
- No Results Found: Ensure your search term matches metadata fields correctly. Try broader terms or review applied filters.
- Slow Search Performance: Check your search terms. If you are searching for multiple values with an include operator, the search may time out. Try to use an "Equals" Operator instead.
